About the role
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team in Doncaster.
In this role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple Group entities, while also helping to maintain accurate financial records and controls. You’ll process month-end journals, reconcile accounts, and work closely with other teams to ensure the integrity of our financial data.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone studying towards a professional qualification (AAT, CIMA, or ACCA) who’s ready to take the next step in their career and gain hands-on experience in a supportive, collaborative environment.
What you’ll be responsible for
Assisting the Management Accounts team in preparing monthly accounts for DFS
Calculating and processing month-end journals, reconciliations, and control accounts accurately and on time
Taking an active role in your own development, completing relevant training and accounting qualifications
Supporting the wider Finance team to ensure new developments are accurately reflected in accounting data
Assisting with expenditure, capex, and other AP-related accruals across all Group entities
Administering elements of weekly cash forecast files for Group companies
Completing balance sheet controls each month in a timely manner
Liaising with relevant departments to resolve accounting issues and reconciling items
Preparing national statistics data for ONS and supporting other ad hoc reporting
Taking part in ad hoc analysis and finance projects
We’re looking for someone who has
AAT, CIMA, or ACCA qualification (or studying towards ) and looking to build your experience
Understanding of general ledger principles and double entry accounting, and have experience working with high volumes of transactions
Confidence working independently and keen to grow your skills through hands-on experience
Excel experience and can use pivot tables, V LOOK UP's, and formatting to analyse data
Analytically minded with great attention to detail
Great communication skills and is able to work with colleagues across different teams to resolve issues and ensure data accuracy
